Sash Replacement
Some wood windows let us remove and replace only the sealed double-pane glass. When that is not suitable, we replace the glass and its attached wood sash together as one framed unit while keeping a sound outer frame.
Which part needs replacing?
Glass only: If the wood sash is sound and the insulated glass can be removed, we can replace just the sealed glass unit. See glass replacement.
Glass with wood sash: If the sash itself needs replacement or the glass cannot be changed separately, the wood frame around the glass comes out with it as one piece.
What happens next
We inspect the sash and surrounding frame to determine whether a replacement sash is suitable and available.
